From this year, students will be required to appear in only one exam - JEE (Main) to get admission in any good Engineering College in India. Students can opt for either Offline or Online mode in JEE (Main). Students who qualify in this exam are eligible to be considered for admission in almost all Government Engineering Colleges in India except IITs. The merit list for admission to Engineering Colleges (except IITs) will be prepared after giving 40% weightage to the Class 12th Board Marks and 60% weightage to marks scored in the JEE-Main. Please note that the overall marks obtained in all the subjects (not just PCM ) in the Board Exam will be considered for the 40% weightage in preparing the final merit list Those students who are aiming for IITs will have to appear in one more test after qualifying the JEE( Main) test. That test is called JEE(Advanced). Requirements that a student must fulfill to be eligible for writing the JEE (Advanced) are:
NOTE: States like Madhay Pradesh and Kerala have not joined the JEE (Main) system. These states will be holding there own state JEE for admissions in state level Engineering Colleges. BITS-Pilani, Manipal, VIT,... etc will be holding their own admission tests |
